Fraternities partner with food pantry to help fight food insecurity

UNIVERSITY, Miss. — Fraternity members at the University of Mississippi have partnered with the campus’ food pantry to make sure students have a meal each day.

Four days a week, volunteers from the Ole Miss Interfraternity Council package unused meals prepared by chefs at their fraternity houses. They then take the food to three refrigerators across campus for anyone to grab.

The effort is in partnership with campus’ food pantry, Grove Grocery.

According to a Healthy Minds survey reported by Ole Miss, 28% of students say they struggle with food insecurity in some way.
