Winners of The Hickory Young Professionals (HYP) Top 10 Under 40 competition, presented by Martin Starnes & Associates, have been announced.
The 2018 recipients are: Dave Leonetti, Derek Zealy-Wright, Diana Williams, Elechia Morgan, Jordan Ledford, Katye Fredieu, Matthew Davis, Nathan Huret, Susan Matthews and Tom Rees. They will be honored at an event beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 14 at Market on Main in Hickory.
Nominees for the awards must be younger than 40. They must be employed in and live in Catawba, Caldwell, Burke or Alexander counties, and must be involved in activities outside of work. Nominees were reviewed and winners were selected by a group of non-eligible community leaders chosen by the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce.
Derek Zealy-Wright, 37
Zealy-Wright is a senior accounting analyst for Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, where he works with the accounting department to process and analyze data. He frequently works with multiple retail locations across the country.
Zealy-Wright was involved with Pi Kappa Phi fraternity while in college. He has also served on the Greater Hickory Jaycees Board of Directors, served on the finance committee for ALFA, volunteered with Not Your Mama’s Bingo, served on committees for Innovative Catawba and also as treasurer for HYP. Now, Leonetti is in the process of becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
