The West Chester-Coatesville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc launched its first scholarship application during the 2022-2023 school year. The chapter informed (March 2023) every high school in Chester County of the opportunity for all seniors to apply for consideration. After six weeks of an open application period, the fraternity reviewed all submissions and made a determination to award two students with a scholarship. Andrea Lewis and Alanah Smith were awarded the scholarship in the amount of $1,000 each. Both of the students graduated from Coatesville Area Senior High School and were in the top 10-percent of the class.
