“Almost 5 years ago, my parents, Ken and Glena Merwin, moved into a Senior Living Facility in Lake Barrington, IL. Last year from across the dining room, my dad heard, “Are you Ken Merwin?” My dad said, “Why, yes I am” and then instantly recognized Buddy, a Delta Sig fraternity brother he hadn’t seen in almost 70 years since their Millikin University days in Decatur, IL. So this year, my sister came up with the brilliant idea to get them new Delta Sig sweatshirts. My mom wrapped and presented these gifts to Buddy and my dad during one of their weekly lunch get-togethers over the holidays. Now both 91 years old, they were just so pleased to receive these sweatshirts and they just look beyond adorable. Lots of stories and lots of laughs came pouring out. It was a very special moment, and I thought Delta Sig should know about this everlasting bond of brotherhood.”
