OSU Delta Tau Delta chapter given national award

Oklahoma State University's chapter of Delta Tau Delta was named a top-10 chapter in the U.S.

Delta Tau Delta, a fraternity at Oklahoma State University was recently recognized as a top 10 chapter nationally with the 2024 Hugh Shields Award for Chapter Excellence.

According to Delts.org, the Hugh Shields Award for Chapter Excellence recognizes overall excellence in a chapter and is presented to the top 10 chapters [out of 130] in the fraternity. Chapters receive a gavel and a Hugh Shields flag. 

This marks the 16th time that the OSU “Delts” have been recognized as a top chapter since the award started in 1965. Delta Tau Delta was chartered at OSU in 1949.

“Winning a Hugh Shields Award is a testament to the quality of the men that we recruit and the outstanding work that they do every day,” Chapter Advisor Logan Holden said. “They’re committed to personal development, committed to making a positive impact in the community, committed to building an elite experience and they’re only getting started.”

Chapter leaders were also recognized for their excellence. 2023 Chapter President Chester Helmberger received the Outstanding Chapter President Award, and Holden received the Outstanding Chapter Advisor Award.

“The accomplishments of the Delta Tau Delta chapter at OSU highlight the great stride the organization has made by being recognized as one of the top 10 chapters in the nation,” said Dr. Johnny Robinson, director of student involvement.  “We would like to commend both the student leaders of the organization and the outstanding dedication of the alumni volunteers/advisors who help guide the chapter. We look forward to seeing the chapter continue success at OSU and beyond.”
