Tony Beyer, founder and CEO of Batavia-based Tek Pak, Inc., will be honored with the 2024 Distinguished Alumnus Award by the Sigma Tau Gamma national fraternity at its Grand Conclave to be held June 27-30 in Houston.
He was selected for his meritorious professional achievements, commitment to free enterprise, dedication to community service and embodiment of qualities that inspire fraternity members.
Beyer is a passionate community leader who has made significant contributions to socio-economic development, job creation, and community engagement in St. Charles and the Kane County region, according to a news release.
“He is an inspiration to all our members, undergraduate and alumni alike, and is a particular favorite of our campus leaders who see in him unlimited potential and opportunity for their own lives,” said W.P. “Buz” Barlow Jr., chief executive officer of Sigma Tau Gamma. “Tony’s dedication to innovation and community service is a beacon to our organization’s commitment to embracing the future while honoring our past.”
Beyer joined Sigma Tau when an undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. After graduation, he stayed connected to the fraternal network through participating in Grand Conclaves, contributing to organizational growth as one of the founding members of the Greater Chicago STG Alumni chapter and periodically served as a speaker at the STG Noble Man Institute.
His professional achievements include an ongoing commitment to innovation and pioneering role in the plastics manufacturing industry. He has worked to increase Tek Pak’s global footprint through advocating for the expansion of free-trade agreements, and pro-manufacturing policies including the investment in workforce development and job training programs to ensure American manufacturing remains competitive in the global economy.
“Over the years, Sigma Tau Gamma principles have guided my relationships, professional interactions, career decisions and overall worldview,” Beyer said. “I’m honored by this recognition which strengthens my resolve for continued innovation, service of my community, and ongoing collaboration with STG leadership to inspire and bring up the next generation of Noble Men committed to service, excellence and citizenship.”
In 2023, Beyer was honored with the Daily Herald’s Entrepreneurial Excellence Award and was recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business as a Notable Leader in Sustainability. He continues to move Tek Pak forward in environmental sustainability through recycling programs and research into the use of sustainable molded fiber packaging, aiming to achieve his corporate mission of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2033.
