On Wednesday, August 21, the Chicago Heights Middle School (CHMS) held a Welcome Back assembly in the school’s Spartan Arena. The assembly also celebrated the adoption of the school by the Chicago Heights Alumni (IL) Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
All students, the heart of the school community, actively participated in the assembly planned by the school’s Champion Committee, a group of dedicated individuals committed to promoting student and staff “Voice, Choice, and Leadership” in the school environment.
The Champion Committee has selected the acronym PRIDE (Preparation, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Empathy) to represent the mantra for this year’s school culture.
This year, the Champion’s Committee focuses on positively transitioning into the school year and focusing on building sound academic expectations, assembly expectations, and, most importantly, relationship expectations.
“We were thrilled to kick off the school year with a vibrant assembly that set a positive tone for our upcoming campaign,” shared CHMS Principal Chris Baikauskas.
