TACOMA, Wash. – The Whitman College men’s and women’s golf teams delivered an outstanding showing this weekend at the Logger Shootout, both finishing the two-day event at the top of both the team and individual leaderboards.
The men’s side saw a three-team competition between the Blues, Pacific Lutheran and the host University of Puget Sound. Whitman went 1-2-3 on the final individual leaderboard and the team won the Shootout after finishing 15 under par.
Grady Brown took top individual honors after shooting six under despite carding an even par after day one. Alexander Knox placed second just one stroke back of Brown, and Mason Remington (Tau Kappa Epsilon) fired a three under par good for third place. Down the leaderboard were Ben Sweet and Parker Krovisky (Tau Kappa Epsilon) who placed in a tie for fifth.
The Shootout was the final tuneup ahead of next weekend’s NWC Fall Classic with results helping to determine the NWC Champion.
