ASNAU has restored the Louie Awards on campus this semester. The Louie Awards honor students, faculty and staff across the university. There were six winners this semester, two in each category.
The nominations were due on March 7 and ASNAU and the Office of Leadership and Engagement chose the winners. Those selected were announced at the Louie Awards celebration, April 5.

Eddie Zazueta, a sophomore studying psychological sciences with a minor in anthropology, is involved in Greek and student life on campus.
Zazueta is the president of Omega Delta Phi and a member of the United Greek Council’s (UGC) executive board. He is an intern for both NAU’s Fraternity and Sorority Life Committee and for the Dean of Students. He is also a True Blue Ambassador. He was nominated by his UGC advisor, Nancy Navarro.
Zazueta reinstated the chapter at NAU last year with the help of other community members. He wanted to create an inclusive environment for students like himself, a Latino and first-generation student.
“Unity and leadership, those are definitely values that I like to take to heart,” Zazueta said. “And just portraying everything that I do, inclusivity is something that is very important to me.”
Omega Delta Phi is one of four multicultural community service and academic-based chapters within the UGC.
Zazueta’s involvement as an intern for the Dean of Students and a True Blue Ambassador has made him a bridge between students, clubs and organizations.
“My main thing is acknowledging each individual. I like to get to know somebody. I like to get to know their stories,” Zazueta said. “Because at the end of the day, you truly don’t know what somebody’s going through.”
