VERMILLION, South Dakota (KTIV) – A University of South Dakota fraternity raised over $1,200 Wednesday to honor a brother who lost his battle to leukemia.
USD’s Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity (PIKE) raised the funds to benefit the M.D. Anderson Center to support patients and families facing blood cancer.
The fundraiser was part of the Taylor Trudeau Cycle for Life in honor of Taylor Trudeau, a PIKE brother who died from leukemia in 2008.
Since the Cycle for Life event started in 2011, the USD PIKES have raised more than $15,000 for cures and research for blood cancer.
