Aaron Lee, a ONU double major studying philosophy, politics and economics (PPE) and professional writing, has a strong passion for politics and law.
The Sigma Pi brother originally came to ONU for the PPE major offering. He selected this major due to having an interest in politics and law, along with wanting to study something that would be beneficial in law school.
Aaron had the opportunity to work on Associate Professor of Political Science Dr. Kofi Nsia-Pepra’s campaign for Ohio State Rep. District 25. Through a connection with former Sigma Pi president Richard Deubler, who worked with Nsia-Pepra to start the campaign, Aaron is now running the social media for that same campaign and has the opportunity to see how grassroots politics work.
“My experience working for a political campaign thanks to my fraternity has let me see the challenges that have to be overcome when running a campaign,” he says.
In addition, he is involved on campus with Sigma Pi fraternity, College Democrats, Ethics Club and working as a tutor at the ONU Writing Center. His main focus goes to Sigma Pi.
“The friends I have made in the fraternity are the closest I have had since coming to college. I enjoy doing good in the community through our philanthropies, the Amazing Day Foundation and Donate Life.
The ability to make a lasting positive impact on campus and for the organizations we support is something I am passionate about,” he says.
On why future students should consider going to ONU, Aaron says, “The small-town environment makes you feel at home. I love walking around campus and always seeing someone I know and can have a conversation with.
“The smaller class sizes allow you to maintain a better connection with your professors, and there are always opportunities to be involved on campus.”
