Keeping a promise to the community

The Chi Phi Fraternity at Rutgers was able to donate over 500 individual items and over $1000 in cash to Elijah’s Promise of New Brunswick. Elijah’s Promise started in 1989, with the goal to service its local community through harnessing the power of food. They offer a food pantry, social services, a community garden, a food systems advocacy program and much more. During the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, access to basic hygienic products have become harder than ever. Hygiene kits including body soap, shampoo, deodorant, razors, floss, combs and much more were donated. Moreover, we are proud to say that we were also able to donate many canned products which the chefs at Elijahs promise are able to use to serve the local community. Along with our cash donation, this will ensure Elijah’s Promise will have the continuous support to serve its community.
