PLAINFIELD, NJ — The Zeta Nu Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity spent Saturday morning giving back to the community by cleaning a block in the Fourth Ward. Following the organization’s community service, there was a sign unveiling at the corner of West Fourth Street and Plainfield Avenue to make the chapter’s adopt-a-block official.

Members of the Plainfield City Council, representatives from the fire and police departments and public works, and Assemblywoman Linda Carter were also on hand to mark the occasion.

Zeta Nu Lambda President Sherlock Dow noted, “We’re happy to serve in the City of Plainfield, and doing the work for the community. We are looking to get out more and partner, not only partnerships with our elected officials, but also partnerships with the residents of Plainfield to make sure that we service in a way that has a stronger breadth of impact for the folks that live in Plainfield.”
