The Epsilon Nu chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa at Northwest Missouri State University was honored this summer with the coveted Herbert L. Brown Outstanding Chapter Award at the fraternity’s 69th General Convention.
This award is considered the highest honor at the General Convention and is given to chapters that excel in all areas of their operations. The Epsilon Nu chapter was recognized for its work in the areas of service and philanthropy, diversity and inclusion, communications and campus involvement.
Members of the Northwest chapter traveled to New Orleans to attend the convention in July.
“I was shocked, but very excited and happy, kind of overwhelmed honestly,” said Dillon Davis, president of the Epsilon Nu chapter and a senior mass media broadcast and production major from St. Peters, Missouri.
The Phi Sigma Kappa chapter at Northwest was founded on Dec. 2, 1938, making it the University’s second oldest fraternity. Its philanthropy work is dedicated to Special Olympics by hosting fundraising events including “Soak-A-Sig” and volunteering at Special Olympics events.
The Epsilon Nu chapter has a history of winning awards in the Northwest Fraternity and Sorority Life community, including Outstanding Northwest Fraternity of the Year in 2015, Outstanding Fraternity President in 2021 and Most Improved Chapter in 2022.
