PHOTOS: Alexandria wreath-laying honors Martin Luther King Jr.

Epsilon Psi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity held their annual wreath-laying in honor of the late civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024 at the Martin Luther King Jr. monument located at the corner of Murray and Martin Luther King Jr., Drive. The ceremony honors the life and legacy of the civil rights leader who marched in Alexandria in the area where the marker is located. The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade set for Monday was cancelled by the City-wide Interdenominational Revival Committee, organizers of the parade, but the prayer breakfast will still go on at 6:30 a.m. at Alexandria Convention Hall in downtown Alexandria as well as the noonday service.
