For the first time, Troy University’s FarmHouse Fraternity chapter has won back-to-back Ruby Cups, marking the chapter’s fourth such win in a 28-year history.
The Ruby Cup is awarded to the most outstanding chapter in the international fraternity. It is awarded to only one of the 32 chapters.
“Once again, FarmHouse Fraternity is reflecting the high standards that have made the organization a vital part of student life at Troy University,” said Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. “I’m immensely proud that the chapter has captured the Ruby Cup for the second year in a row and would point to them as an example of what is right within America’s Greek System.”
The chapter also garnered the Most Outstanding Philanthropy Award, Most Outstanding Community Service Award, retained its 3-star Excelsior Level Chapter status, and met its Tier 2 Recruitment Goal for the past year.
“Winning the Ruby Cup is the highest award any FarmHouse Chapter can receive. When we won the Ruby Cup last year, it seemed like we already had our sights set on keeping it in Troy again,” Garrett McKeon, a senior risk management major from Buford, GA who serves as chapter president.
“It took a lot of planning and hard work not only from the exec board but also from the active brotherhood. At FarmHouse we are always striving to achieve excellence in everything we do,” he added.
The chapter averaged more than $700 raised for philanthropy per member and averaged more than 40 community service hours per member. TROY’s FarmHouse was one of just three chapters to complete all the requirements set by FarmHouse International.
