Member Spotlight
Kyle Ramlow, Iota Rho (Western Illinois), recently received recognition from the Western Illinois University Board of Trustees for his work implementing Sensory Rooms across campus. Ramlow cultivated a gift from The Ability Experience and others to raise $5,500 for the initiative.
The Sensory Room is more than just a space—it is a sanctuary on WIU campuses designed to provide a low sensory, safe environment for those who may experience anxiety, hyperstimulation, panic or other discomfort. In this space, users will have access to adaptive technology, occupational therapy tools and a wealth of resources and information on these conditions and strategies to manage them effectively.
Ramlow advocates for people with disabilities, as showcased through his continuous work with The Ability Experience. Having served as a crew member on Journey of Hope’s 2019 North Route, Gear Up Florida 2023 and preparing for Journey of Hope 2024 North Route, he continues to advocate for the abilities of all through fundraising, advocacy and volunteerism. Thank you for your service to our Fraternity and philanthropy!
