TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Some students at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology took pies to the faces Wednesday as part of a fundraiser for a local organization.

Members of Phi Gamma Delta hosted the Pie-A-Phi fundraiser on campus. Donations collected will support Happiness Bag in Terre Haute. The organization provides education and recreational resources for people with disabilities.

Members of the fraternity said the event started on a smaller scale in their house’s yard a few years ago. Since then, the event has grown from raising a couple of hundred dollars to thousands of dollars.

The young men are glad to host this event as it supports service – one of the fraternity’s main values.

“We’re just really grateful we have people who support us in our goals of serving the community, we got a lot of businesses and sponsors that are happy to help. We’re just happy to share our values with the community,” said Jonathon Stadler, philanthropy chair.

The fraternity is hoping to raise $15,000 for Happiness Bag. People can still donate online by clicking here
