Delta Lambda Phi is thrilled to congratulate Dr. Quortne Hutchings (they/them/theirs), an alumni member of the Alpha Rho chapter [at Penn State], on recently being the Trans Awareness keynote speaker at the Spectrum Center at the University of Michigan.
Br. Hutchings explored a kiki methodology grounded in ballroom culture and Black queer storytelling. Kiki methodology connects envisioning and centering words, feelings, and voices of the Black queer community in the form of storytelling in higher education.
Quortne R. Hutchings, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in Higher Education and Student Affairs at Northern Illinois University. Their research primarily focuses on Black undergraduate and graduate experiences in higher education, minoritized student affairs professional experiences with a focus on intersectionality and critical queer frameworks.
Delta Lambda Phi is proud to call Quortne one of our brothers and we celebrate their success!
