NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.- January is huge for Greek life across the campus of Westminster College as fraternities and sororities celebrate recruiting new members. Westminster has long been home to nine national fraternity organizations such as Sigma Phi Epsilon, Alpha Sigma Phi, Theta Chi, and Phi Kappa Tau. Westminster is home to five national sorority organizations: Zeta Tau Alpha, Sigma Kappa, Phi Mu, Kappa Delta, and Alpha Gamma Delta. Despite the long-standing tradition of “bid day” being on the same day for fraternities and sororities, Westminster has separated the days into two separate weekends for this year, with fraternities gaining new members on January 18th and sororities gaining recruits on January 25th.
Sigma Phi Epsilon and Alpha Sigma Phi had a particularly successful recruitment chapter this year, with six new members calling the organizations home. Phi Kappa Tau also gladly welcomed four new members to their family, and Theta Chi also had a successful day, gaining one new member of their respective organization. The results of sorority recruitment were released on January 25.
