Members of Peterborough’s Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity will brave the elements this coming weekend in support of local Habitat for Humanity projects.

For a 14th year, TKE in a Box will see Fleming and Trent University-affiliated fraternity members camp out in a wooden box for 48 hours in the parking lot of Venture North at George and King streets in the city’s downtown core. Their adventure begins at 4 p.m. Friday (February 7) and continues until 4 p.m. Sunday (February 9).

Fraternity member Ben Hofmann says staying busy is key to staying warm.

Hofmann says staying downtown over the course of two nights requires some forethought in ensuring all are safe.

Hofmann says planning for the elements is a big part of the preparation.

Last year’s TKE in a Box raised $5,000 for Habitat for Humanity.

People can donate in person on the weekend or online all this week at https://give-can.keela.co/tke-in-a-box.
