Special Olympics Indiana athlete and member of Sigma Chi Fraternity Andrew Peterson is an inspiration to all who know him as he trains for the 2019 Boston Marathon. He is only the second Special Olympian to qualify after crossing the 2017 Indianapolis Monumental Marathon finish line in 2 hours, 57 minutes, and 33 seconds. Despite his diagnosis of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Andrew ran his first 3K at age 9 after being challenged by his father Craig, also a Sigma Chi. Since then, he’s become a three-time Special Olympics gold medalist, an official partner of the 500 Festival to promote running throughout Indiana, a finalist for the cover of Runner’s World Magazine – and much more.
