NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — The end of Westminster’s “Greek Week” is a rather bittersweet one, as each fraternity and sorority reflect on their individual and team performances as well as the many fun memories that they made with their brothers and sisters throughout the week. However, the end of Greek Week also marks the beginning of one of the most highly anticipated activities of the entire event: Westminster’s Sing ‘N’ Swing. This gives each fraternity and sorority the chance to showcase their talent through a dance that fits with a theme that changes each year.

A total of 3 fraternities and 5 sororities participated in this year’s Sing ‘N’ Swing event, for a total of 8 Greek Life organizations that participated. The theme for this year’s Sing ‘N’ Swing event was “Icons and Divas”, and each fraternity and sorority had to model their dance off a singer of their choosing. For the fraternities that participated, Theta Chi chose Bruno Mars, Sigma Phi Epsilon chose Britney Spears, and Phi Kappa Tau chose Kanye West. For the sororities that participated, Kappa Delta chose Katy Perry, Phi Mu chose Lady Gaga, Zeta Tau Alpha selected Micheal Jackson, Sigma Kappa chose Beyonce, and Alpha Gamma Delta selected Justin Timberlake.

Each fraternity and sorority was given one week to prepare their routine. They were able to practice and rehearse their routine together starting on Monday but were not able to go over that 2-hour limit. They were also allowed to use props, but the types of props that each fraternity and sorority could use were very limited. Some examples of props that were allowed were large pieces of cardboard and flags that had the respective sorority/fraternity symbol on them. The video link for the Sing ‘N’ Swing Event can be accessed here: https://vimeo.com/936891517.

This year, the Westminster Sing ‘N’ Swing event was held in Orr Auditorium on Saturday, April 13, at 7:30 PM. Most of the routines that were displayed were around 3-5 minutes. When all was said and done, Theta Chi finished in 1st place, and Phi Mu finished in 1st place. We congratulate Theta Chi and Phi Mu on winning this year’s Sing ‘N’ Swing event! For Theta Chi, this is the second consecutive time they have won Sing ‘N’ Swing.

Once again, we congratulate Phi Mu and Theta Chi for winning this year’s Sing ‘N’ Swing! We also hope that everyone that was involved in Greek Week had lots of fun and made memories with their fellow Greek life members!
