COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – University of South Carolina students came together to put on a Halloween party for residents at Rice Estates retirement home.
USC’s Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and Alpha Chi Omega sorority paired up to organize a fraternity-styled party to serve the seniors.
“That’s what makes the holiday special, is you really get to think outside the box and have fun in the most creative way possible,” Pi Kappa Alpha Charter President Matt Olivieri said.
Residents dressed up in costumes ranging from Oktoberfest to a Christmas elf. The party allowed a lot of the residents to come out of their shell.
“Tonight I’m seeing a lot of the residents that typically might stay on their own, and their coming out here dancing, partying, and having a good time,” said Daniel Amodio, Rice Estates executive director.
