The Gamma Sigma chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. earned top awards at the 88th Southwestern Province Council in the Shreveport-Bossier City, La., area April 24-28.
Honors included Gamma Sigma being recognized as the Southwestern Province Large Chapter of the Year. The award showcases the chapter’s unwavering commitment to excellence and service within the fraternity and the community, according to a news release.
The chapter also claimed the Southwestern Province Highest Chapter GPA (grade point average), underscoring its dedication to academic excellence and scholarly pursuits, according to the release.
Awards for highest GPAs were also presented to members for 1st (Braelyn Starks), 2nd (Perry Williams), and 3rd (Carvis Campbell III) Highest Individual GPA’s within the Southwestern Province, further highlighting the chapter’s emphasis on scholastic achievement and personal development, according to the release.
The council also honored UAPB alumnus Michael Mason with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his exceptional contributions and meritorious services to the province. Mason’s dedication to fostering inspiration and achievement within the fraternity exemplifies the core values of Kappa Alpha Psi, according to the release.
