Fifty Under 50: Matt Dittrich ’12

Matt Dittrich ’12 was a full-ride Garrett Scholar and has given back to Whitman every year since his graduation—currently as a member of the President’s Advisory Board, the Tau Kappa Epsilon Board and formerly as a member of the Alumni Association Board. Through 14 consecutive years of giving, Dittrich has become deeply embedded in the Whitman community. While directing most of his support toward scholarships and aid, greatest need and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Dittrich has also directly supported other aspects of Upward Together, including the junior-senior residential village.

As an undergraduate, Dittrich participated in the Associated Students of Whitman College throughout all four years including serving as the Student Body President. He was also a leader of Tau Kappa Epsilon and various other clubs. Dittrich graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and earned an MBA at Yale University. Now he serves as a Venture Partner with three investment companies. He resides in Camas, Washington, but returns to Walla Walla often to manage his six-generation family farm and to visit loved ones.

Fifty Under 50 is a new initiative recognizing emerging leaders in philanthropy. Members are graduates of the class of 1989 or later and have made gifts and pledges exceeding $50,000 to the campaign.
