Leaders from Monmouth College’s four fraternities gather weekly at the Interfraternity Council (IFC) to discuss key issues and strategies for fostering a strong brotherhood.
IFC President Brady Arrenius said the one goal of these weekly meetings is to: “Foster more cohesive fraternity community.” By strengthening their community, it allows for more people to join this organization and creates a brotherhood within the fraternities.
At IFC meetings, they discuss events and important dates for each fraternity. Event purposes range from raising money, making their presence known, bettering their fraternity, and having fun. In the past, they’ve done events like Safe Zone training, education on Title IX policies, ice cream socials, and Homecoming skits..
By hosting all these events it “helps with the operation of the fraternity community and [tries] to better ourselves as a brotherhood,” said Arrenius.
