Hundreds of cases of water are heading to Flint, Michigan, on Saturday as the result of a charitable drive hosted by Indiana State University fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha Inc., Zeta Rho Chapter.

The group loaded a box truck with cases and jugs of water Friday and are leaving early Saturday morning to deliver the water to a city that has been living on bottles of water since 2014, Alpha fraternity President Milton McClain said.

“I hope that when we take the water up that it shows the people of Flint that we care and that there are others outside their community who care and are making effort to help them the best they can,” McClain said.

McClain said the idea came from a regional conference of Alpha Phi Alpha this past summer after he met fellow fraternity members from Flint.
