The University of Arizona Interfraternity Council has recognized Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse as their primary philanthropic relationship since 2011. Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse provides domestic abuse crisis intervention and housing, prevention, education, support, and advocacy services to anyone experiencing domestic abuse.

Over the years, IFC executive members have attended various Emerge events, including Mother of the Year luncheon and the annual golf tournament.

On Sunday, October 14, 2018, the IFC gifted $15,000 to Emerge, their largest donation to date. This gift will ensure that their cutting-edge programs and services are available for everyone who needs them.

The check was presented to Ed Mercurio-Sakwa, CEO of Emerge. Ed shared a positive message about how it is not normal for college age men to care about domestic abuse prevention and the IFC fraternities are leading the way in bringing awareness.

Afterwards, 16 fraternities competed against each other in a tug of war competition. The single elimination style tournament resulted in one winner, Sigma Phi Epsilon. It was a great IFC community event that left everyone feeling proud and exhausted.
