SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Kids getting treatment at McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center are getting some extra comfort thanks to a donation by the University of Oregon’s Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
The fraternity donated more than 300 teddy bears to McKenzie-Willamette on Tuesday.
Beta Theta Pi raised money to buy the bears and brought in double their original goal.
“We actually named the bears after people who donated. So if you donated $5 you could name a bear, so some people donated $50 so they could name 10 bears.” said Luis Tort, Beta Theta Pi VP of Communications.
The hospital says the bears are given to kids whether they’re at the facility for a procedure or for an emergency.
