FHSU Interfraternity Council to host 15th annual Walk-A-Mile event

HAYS, Kan. – The men of the Fort Hays State University Fraternities, Alpha Gamma Rho, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Chi, and Sigma Phi Epsilon, will host their 15th annual Walk-A-Mile in Her Shoes™ philanthropy event on April 12, 2023. The event raises money and awareness for the victims of sexual and domestic abuse. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Options Domestic and Sexual Violence Services and Jana’s Campaign.  

Options is based in Hays and provides services to the victims of sexual and physical abuse in Western and Central Kansas. Providing a 24-hour crisis intervention, Options specializes in one-on-one counseling, personal advocacy, safety planning, safe shelters, support groups, community referrals, and public presentations.  

Jana’s Campaign plays a significant role in breaking the cycle of domestic and dating violence, serving as a catalyst for social change. This local charity partners with other advocates, activists, victims, the criminal justice system, and lawmakers to reduce and respond to domestic and dating violence through public awareness and community action; education, prevention, and intervention; public policy advocacy; campus action; and engaging men and boys to reduce domestic and dating violence.
