Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity brothers have helped the little brothers’ friends of the elderly for many years. Helping chop wood to keep seniors warm in the winter. And helping keep the LBFE food pantry full for senior meals during the year. Tomorrow the fraternity brothers will travel around the local area and pick up food drive donations for the local nonprofit’s annual Copper Country Can drive.
“We have handed out some flyers to neighborhoods on paper bags. But if you haven’t gotten a flyer, you are free to put a paper bag, or plastic bag out. We just that you mark that it is for Little Brothers, or Lambda Chi, or Food Drive. That way we know that it is something you are looking to donate. And we’ll take it off your porch.” Adam Jordan, Community Involvement Chairman, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity
Residents throughout the Copper Country can leave donations on their front porch or by the mailbox for pick up. Food drive pick-ups will end by 3 p.m. Please call the Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly Hancock office if your donation does not get picked up. Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly is seeking non-perishable foods such as canned vegetables, soups, beans, and dry goods like rice and grains. As well as items that are low or without salt, ensure nutritional shakes or calorie supplement powders, and cranberry juice. Find a more information about the can drive here.
