NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Westminster College’s Greek community recently came together for its annual “Greek Week,” a week-long competition filled with fun, games, and a commitment to raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis. This year, the fraternities and sororities demonstrated remarkable spirit and teamwork, raising $1,604.13

In addition to the overall competition throughout the week, awards were given to the champions of each activity. One stand-out competition of the week was Penny Wars. Kylee Shannon, a member of the Greek Week committee, explained, “Penny Wars is a weeklong competition to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis where sororities and fraternities drop pennies into their respective buckets to add points to their score. However, all silver coins or bills that the competing fraternities and sororities add take points away.”

We cannot forget about this year’s candidates for Greek God and Goddess, which included a competitive lineup featuring Mackenzie Powell from Alpha Gamma Delta, Laren Gordon from Kappa Delta, Justin Ranft from Phi Kappa Tau, Erin Fogreen from Phi Mu, Patric Benedict from Sigma Phi Epsilon, Ryan Shaw from Theta Chi, and Ella Hilebrand from Zeta Tau Alpha! Final votes revealed the 2025 Greek God and Goddess were….Patrick Benedict from Sigma Phi Epsilon and Breanna Peck from Sigma Kappa!

After being crowned Greek Goddess, Breanna shared;

“Greek week has always been my favorite time of the year. Seeing the Greek community get together to compete in different activities is so much fun. As a senior, I loved cheering on my sisters one last time and spending time with them. And, of course, ending the week with Sing and Swing is always the best part! It was an amazing week filled with great people and excitement. I was also so honored to win Greek Goddess. I was not expecting to win, but it was an added highlight to an already wonderful week, and I am so grateful.”

Finally, the annual Sing N Swing competition wraps up this long philanthropy week. Sing N Swing took place Saturday night in Orr Auditorium, featuring choreographed dance numbers from each sorority and fraternity chapter. This year’s theme was “Opposites Attract.” Fraternities had to pick female artists, and sororities had to choose male artists.

Starting the night off strong, Kappa Delta lit up the stage with a high-energy performance inspired by Usher’s iconic hits, followed by the sisters of Alpha Gamma Delta, who danced to Pit Bull with a special appearance from Mr. Worldwide! Next, Sigma Phi Epsilon had everyone say their name with a jumping performance featuring Beyonce’s best songs. Sigma Kappa kept it real with an intricate performance featuring a mix from Kendrick Lamar! Theta Chi had all the attitude, with no apologies, when they took the stage and broke it down to Rihanna! Phi Mu left the crowd craving more with a dance choreographed by Maroon 5. Followed by the Sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha, who brought the best of Biggie Smalls. Next, after a five-year hiatus, the brothers of Alpha Sigma Phi took the stage with everyone’s favorite R&B group from the ’90s, TLC! Finally, the men of Phi Kappa Tau took the stage with a dynamic dance routine set to the energetic beats of Katy Perry’s hit songs.
