Friday, January 14th, the Delta Phi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. will hold their day of service at the West Alabama Food Bank.
Just one day before their fraternity brother’s birthday Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Delta Phi Lambda Alumni Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will be volunteering at the West Alabama Foodbank from 10a-Noon.
The chapter has opportunities for members of the community to volunteer during their day of service. To sign up to volunteer, you can send an email to DeltaPhiLambda49@Gmail.com.
Service isn’t new to members of the NPHC here in Alabama, especially the men of Alpha Phi Alpha.
Delta Phi Lambda chapter member Kenneth Webb spoke on how important these service projects are to the chapter and organization.
“Service is our mission and we are committed to grassroots work.”
That grassroots work Webb speaks about is a key to connecting with the community and serving those you care about in that said community. Events like these are things that I’d love to see more of in our community. It’s essential that we continue to uplift and help out one another with service projects such as this.
In addition to volunteering at the West Alabama Foodbank, the chapter is also collecting funds to donate to the Foodbank Senior Program. If you wish to donate, you can send your donations to CashApp ($deltaphilambda), PayPal (deltaphilambda49@gmail.com), or you can mail your donations to PO Box 020251 Tuscaloosa, AL 35403.
