It truly is the season of giving at Florida A&M University, as different organizations are hosting charitable events and giving back to the Tallahassee community this holiday season.

Here are just a few of the many holiday charity events happening and have happened on campus this year.

For one of their holiday charity events, the Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, is hosting its annual Angel Tree program.

The Alphas have partnered with the Salvation Army seeking “to deliver smiles and a holiday experience to remember,” according to the Beta Nu Instagram.

FAMU students were able to choose from 500 different children and buy them the gifts that were on their personalized wish lists.

Lex Dortelus, a third-year student and member of the fraternity, shared what this program means to him.

“Even though I might not be able to give more than what [the child] wants, I’m happy to provide something to them, even if it’s just something as small as a sock. It means a lot to me,” Dortelus said.
