The MS Walk at DePauw was started in 2022 through the efforts of Sigma Chi’s then philanthropy chair Kevin Dagvadorj and Brentton Campbell, a Sigma Chi alumni and the sisters of Kappa Alpha Theta, whose housing director had also been recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. What started as a small effort to bring attention to a cause that personally affected members of our community quickly turned into an annual tradition. It was built on the idea that something as simple as a walk could bring people together in solidarity, raise awareness, and make a visible impact on our campus community.

This year’s MS Walk was organized by philanthropy chairs Tapan Mandal, Sam Jones and Theta’s philanthropy chairs Sara Jacobi and Caroline Edris which continued that legacy of spreading awareness. On March 8th, 2025 the MS walk brought together over 80 people including students, parents, and community members who came out to support the cause. Participants walked a designated route through campus, wearing orange ribbons and shirts and shared stories of connection to the MS community. With support from various Greek chapters, university staff, and local partners, the event raised over $1800 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The MS Walk is proof that what started with just a few people’s passion has now become a DePauw tradition rooted in compassion, advocacy, and collective strength
