SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — Last week, Alpha Sigma Phi (Gamma Psi Chapter), Sigma Phi Epsilon (Michigan Theta RLC Chapter), Sigma Pi (Zeta Omicron Chapter) fraternities hosted tables at Lawrence Technological University’s first ever Fresh Check Day.
Fresh Check Day is sponsored by the Jordan Porco Foundation, which brings awareness to mental health issues and talks about suicide prevention.
The men helped set up, man booths and activities, served food, and cleaned up. The event had over 100 students, staff, faculty attend to learn about ways to reduce stress, community resources and other mental health activities. They worked together with other students, departments of the university including athletics, Gay/Straight Alliance, Campus Safety, student engagement, housing and clinical counseling.
